CLEO LANE (CHOIR LEADER)

I have been working with a capella vocal groups for 20 years and grew up singing in choirs.

I am a Natural Voice Practitioner and member of The Natural Voice Network - a network of people who work with voice and song, and who believe that singing is everyone’s birthright, regardless of musical experience or ability.

I am a singer/song-writer/arranger once signed to Warner Chapel Publishing. Having wriiten, arranged for and performed with various bands and harmony groups, I have also pioneered a variety of community music groups including...

HACKNEY VOICES COMMUNITY CHOIR (2008-present) - In the heart of Hackney teaching world music and original arrangements of pop and soul tunes we perform in venues across the capital.

CREATIVE INCLUSION (2004-2008) -  Managed and taught a variety of exciting projects with young people and adults combining the mediums of poetry, art, musicianship and voice to produce original material in local communities.

MAKE SOME NOISE (2000-2004) - Creating music workshops for parents and toddlers in Jackson's Lane Community centre, Highgate and teaching singing and song writing skills to excluded children through the Children's Fund in London schools and play schemes.

I am a long term member of jazz/folk a capella group ANIMA. We perform in festivals, hospitals, art centres - you name it - around the country.

I love the connection and vitality of singing with community groups and live in Westcliff On Sea with my hunky husband Matt and 2 brilliant kids!
